Forgiveness
Jesus invites us to pray in a way that acknowledges our need for forgiveness and pray in a way that gives forgiveness. It is a release for us and for those who sin against us. Forgiveness images God and brings his kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. We get to participate in that!
Life of Freedom Forgiveness Prayer
1. Father God, thank you for forgiving me for all of my sins. Because of your forgiveness, I also forgive...
2. I forgive them for the things they did (or failed to do). Say the specific ways the person sinned against you.
3. I forgive them for the ways their sin impacted me and what it cost me.
4. I forgive... for all of the pain and suffering I have had to deal with in my life because of what you did.
5. Jesus, you died for me and you died for them. I put them into your hands. Help me to fully forgive them and release them this day.
6. Bless them: Pray for God to reveal Himself to them, to save them (if unsaved), and draw them close to Him, heal their hearts, and have mercy on them like He did you.
