What is Advent?
Advent means “arrival” and signifies the start of an event or arrival of a person. Some of us may remember the “advent” of the internet, or the “advent” of the pandemic. But for our Christian communities around the world, we refer to it as a four-week season of expectant waiting, preparation, and celebration of the arrival of Jesus of Nazareth on Earth.
It's the season of the liturgical year which is observed through expectant waiting and preparation for both the celebration of the Nativity of Christ at Christmas and the return of Christ at the Second Coming. Also, it is a remembrance of Jews' long wait for the promised messiah.

How will we be celebrating?
At ENCS, we'll be observing Advent at our Sunday gatherings. Each week during our praise & worship time, we'll be reading a scripture and a short exhortation of the week's Advent focus.
