Because we meet in a public space, it's important to know what to do when there is any kind of emergency so parents and children can be reunited quickly and safely, while not putting any other people in additional danger.
In an emergency situation, DO NOT TRY TO GET TO YOUR CHILDREN UNTIL YOU HAVE LEFT THE BUILDING.
In any emergency at the movie theater, the two rules you must remember are:
If there are parents scrambling to get to their children, there will not only be additional commotion and difficulty for others leaving the building (thereby putting more people in danger) but it will actually delay the time to reunion with their children and make it harder for the Kids Church teachers to ensure that every child is accounted for and not missing.
All Kids Church teachers have been trained on the most efficient routes to get children to safety outside of the theater. Some of these escape routes do not go through the main halls. The best thing for parents and children is to get outside as quickly as possible and reunite there. Teachers have been instructed to take the children to the Park-and-Ride lot across the street from the theater. This is where parents should go to find their children.
